Huawei has once again proven its dominance in smartphone photography. The brand’s latest flagship, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, has officially taken first place in the DxOMark 2025 smartphone camera rankings, achieving a remarkable total score of 175 points. This new milestone surpasses its predecessor, the Huawei Pura 70, which previously held the crown.
In what has almost become a tradition, Huawei has reclaimed the top spot with its unique dual-telephoto lens system. The DxOMark test results highlight the Pura 80 Ultra’s outstanding performance across multiple categories, including portrait, indoor, low-light, and outdoor photography. The only exception was in the zoom category, where the Vivo X200 Ultra managed to edge ahead by a single point.
Following closely behind Huawei in the global ranking are the Oppo Find X8 Ultra in second place and the Vivo X200 Ultra in third. This further emphasizes how competitive the flagship smartphone market has become in 2025.
According to DxOMark’s detailed review, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra delivers top-tier results in nearly every test. Reviewers praised its high dynamic range, natural skin tones, accurate color reproduction, and strong low-light performance. Additionally, its autofocus accuracy, video stabilization, and ultra-wide-angle lens were identified as key strengths.
Only minor drawbacks were reported, such as occasional exposure instability, slight color deviations in challenging lighting, and ghosting in video mode. However, these issues were considered minimal compared to the overall image quality.
With the Pura 80 Ultra, Huawei continues to set the standard for smartphone photography in 2025. The camera’s ability to deliver professional-grade results across multiple scenarios makes it a top choice for photography enthusiasts. While some critics still question DxOMark’s objectivity, the extensive comparison photos in the official report highlight just how far ahead Huawei is compared to rivals like Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is more than just a flagship smartphone; it represents Huawei’s commitment to innovation and its continued dominance in the global smartphone camera race.
