The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has officially launched in China as Xiaomi’s newest flagship smartphone, bringing major upgrades in camera technology, performance, and battery life. Alongside the standard model, Xiaomi also introduced the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, featuring a distinctive design and a mechanical zoom ring aimed at photography enthusiasts.

One of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its powerful Leica-branded triple camera system. The phone features a 50MP primary camera with a large 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor and LOFIC technology for improved dynamic range.
This is paired with a massive 200MP Samsung HPE periscope telephoto lens (1/1.4-inch) offering continuous optical zoom, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus for versatile photography.

On the front, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a flat 6.9-inch M10 AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen delivers a 2608 × 1200 resolution and an impressive 3,500 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest smartphone displays available.
The display is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. A 50MP front camera and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner complete the front design.
Powering the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and AI workloads.
The device runs HyperOS 3.0 out of the box, bringing enhanced AI features, smoother animations, and improved system efficiency.
Xiaomi has equipped the 17 Ultra with a large 6,800mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging, making it one of the most capable flagship batteries on the market.
Additional features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, infrared sensor, dual SIM, stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio, quad microphones, and satellite communication.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

The standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra is available in Black, Cool Smoke Purple, Starry Green, and White color options.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition shares the same core hardware as the standard model but adds photography-focused enhancements. The standout feature is a mechanical zoom ring, allowing users to control focal length, exposure, and white balance manually.
The Leica Edition features a dual-tone design inspired by classic Leica M-series cameras, complete with a knurled metal frame and the iconic red Leica logo.

The Leica Edition includes exclusive Leica Moment modes in a 3:2 aspect ratio, a dedicated security and encryption chip, and dual-satellite communication.

It ships in a premium box containing a lens cap, lanyard, magnetic case, and cleaning cloth.

Both the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Leica Edition will go on sale in China starting December 27 via the official Xiaomi online store.
