Geekbench confirms: Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 with powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2
Xiaomi will officially launch the Mix Fold 3 at an event to be held today, August 14, in China . Before the official event, the brand teased the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 by revealing several key specifications. However, these official teasers did not talk about the chipset that the foldable phone will be equipped with.
Well, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 has just appeared on Geekbench. And this benchmark gave us a confirmation of the SoC that Xiaomi has used for its upcoming foldable device. As you probably already guessed, this is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. What is interesting, however, is that it is not a regular version of the chipset.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE GEEKBENCH XIAOMI MIX FOLD 3 BENCHMARK
The Mix Fold 3 model, which passed the Geekbench test, was equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Interestingly, the chipset has a main core clocked at 3.36 GHz. For comparison, the regular version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has a main core clocked at 3.2 GHz.
On the other hand, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy features a main core clocked at 3.36 GHz. As we found out earlier, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is no longer exclusive to Samsung devices. Qualcomm renamed it Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 and made it available to other manufacturers.
However, Geekbench benchmark results show that the phone scored 2071 points in single-core and 5419 points in multi-core tests. These results are expected from a device with an overclocked 8th Gen 2 or 8+ Gen 2 chipset. The Mix Fold 3 also comes with up to 16GB of RAM. So the phone should deliver flagship-level performance.
For those who missed our recent coverage of the Mix Fold 3, the rest of the phone's specs are great too. The foldable phone features an 8.02-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external display. Both have a 120Hz refresh rate and boast high resolution. The phone also has quad cameras on the back and has the thinnest foldable design yet.
