Huawei has been changing the world of wearables for 10 years. Huawei is celebrating 10 years in the market of smart wearables that help users develop a healthy lifestyle. The company entered this market in 2014 with the Talkband B1 product. Thanks to continuous research and development, Huawei has been able to make significant progress in the field of innovative technologies. Both stylish design and the use of premium materials have been reflected in the products. Over 130 million units have been sold worldwide and the Huawei Health app reports more than 450 million users worldwide. To mark the 10th anniversary, new smartwatches will be unveiled in Barcelona on September 14, 2023, including an upcoming global product strategy that will shake up the wearables category.

EQUIPMENT WITH THE MOST POWERFUL TECHNOLOGIES

Over the past ten years, Huawei has been committed to providing consumers with the best wearable devices using the most advanced technologies. These are constantly being developed and improved in research and development centers and fitness and health laboratories. Based on extensive research and development, in 2016 Huawei launched its first optical vital signs monitoring technology called Huawei TruSeenTM 1.0. They managed to achieve real progress in the following years, 2018 and 2020, by continuous heart rate monitoring or by incorporating a high-performance ECG sensor into the TruSeenTM 4.0 hardware module enabling electrocardiogram detection or blood oxygen monitoring.

The current TruSeenTM 5.0+ cardiac activity monitoring technology aimed at more accurate detection, health control support or risk assessment will be overshadowed by the all-new TruSeenTM 5.5+ hardware update, which will be introduced in the coming months. Over the past 8 years, Huawei has continuously improved and innovated products. This led to the introduction of smart functions such as TruSleepTM, TruRelaxTM or TruSport, which provide a complete overview of the user's state of health. In addition, the Huawei Health app provides a tailored set of health recommendations.

Huawei is constantly pushing the boundaries of technology, leading to improvements in disease prevention and risk screening. In the past 8 years, Huawei has even applied for more than 800 patents and has been credited with publishing 8 research results in the field of ESC (European Society of Cardiology). The Huawei Watch D, which was introduced in 33 European countries last year, is enjoying significant success. Not only were they CE certified, but they were the first wearable device to allow continuous blood pressure measurement thanks to hybrid technologies. Currently, the latest Huawei Watch 4 series has come with a brand new Health Glance feature that detects 7 indicators and creates a comprehensive report on the user's health. However, there is still room for improvement in the accuracy of digital health monitoring.

Huawei is one of the few tech brands that has combined the elements of a smartwatch with a traditional luxury watch. An example is the release of the Watch Ultimate at the beginning of this year.
